Bump Pic! 30 Weeks 1 Day!

This week I had my Whooping cough vaccine to protect Baby B from catching whooping cough in the first few weeks of his/her life outside my tummy.

The injection itself didn't hurt, but my god My arm felt bruised and sore for about a week afterwards! Still, small price to pay I know for their health!

I've finally succumbed to the dreaded tiredness and uncomfortableness of pregnancy now and I've changed my working hours to allow me to leave before the majority of the rush hour crush!

I now work 8:30-4:30, which has really helped- Leaving that 1 hour earlier means I can take my time getting to the station and tube, and I get home just that little bit earlier too, which I'm really grateful for!

On Thursday this week I went to the VIP re-opening of a Mothercare store on Oxford Street in London, where I met the lovely Myleen Klass who was talking about her range of Baby K clothes for Mothercare.

I felt HUGE stood next to her, so I grabbed a quick piccie then made my excuses and went and stood elsewhere!

I've noticed that I've started to get a pain in the top left hand side of my bump late in the afternoon, and can often feel some part of Baby B bulging from this area!

It feels a bit like a knee perhaps, but it really blooming hurts when he/she decides to move, leaving the top of my bump feeling bruised!

Bump Pic! 29 Weeks!

Me and Mr B treated ourselves this weekend and made a trip to Bluewater shopping centre in Kent for a mooch and to see the film Gravity.

The main reason for going was to buy me a new pair of boots, as my feet have got really fat and swollen and I'm struggling to fit my ever expanding trotters into my current boots!

After a shout out on Twitter asking for advice on comfy boots, I was sold on the idea of investing in some Ugg boots.

I say 'Investing' but rather Mr B agreed to purchase these as my crimbo present! (Thanks again!)

I opted for this rather lovely pair, In case you were wondering!

Ugg, Josette

The film Gravity was good too, though I don't think Baby B was a big fan of all the loud noises as he/she squirmed their way through pretty much the whole film, with me needing to take about 4 toilet breaks throughout too!

I will look forward to not having to pee every 20 minutes I have to say!

As for Baby B, I feel him/her move all the time now, especially on my commute to work, which never fails to make me smile!

Me and Mr B sleep in separate rooms now too- between my giant pregnancy pillow and getting up every hour to pee, we thought It was best for both our sanity, to try sleeping separately.

This was at least he has a chance of getting a decent nights sleep! It does feel weird though, saying goodnight and going into different rooms!

Bump Pic! 27 Weeks 6 Days!

This week has proved itself to be really boring and un-eventful.

I'm feeling quite big now, heavy and tired so work is beginning to become a drag, ESPECIALLY the commute!

Maternity leave still feels like its a long way off (I'll be 34 weeks when I go) and I sometimes find myself wondering how on earth I'm going to keep going until then!

Indeed, I felt so uncomfortable on Sunday evening, that despite being sat around in my PJ's and it being about 9pm in the evening, I drove around to my parents house.

I really wanted a cuddle and was feeling emotional. They only live around the corner so it's not like I had far to go, I just wanted a hug!

Heartburn is really starting to blight my life at the moment, nothing that I do seems to help and I'm spending a fortune on Gaviscon, which is revolting!

I'm thinking about speaking to my GP to ask if there is anything stronger than Gaviscvon that I can take to help ease the pain, maybe then I'd feel a bit more comfortable.

Bump Pic! 25 Weeks 6 Days!

I had a little fall this week and my god did it scare the hell out of me!

I’d popped out with Mr B and his mum for a coffee in town and slipped on some wet leaves. Thankfully my mother in law was right by my side and managed to grab my arm to stop me from falling completely, and while I was totally fine, once I’d composed myself and initially laughed it off, I then promptly burst into floods of tears. Guess that’s pregnancy hormones for you eh! (But seriously, watch out for wet leaves they’re lethal!)

On a more positive note I finalised my maternity leave dates with HR and my last day will now be Friday
December 20th, just before crimbo! 40 working days to be precise (Not that i’m counting...) Ok I’m totally counting!

Check out my pup Dexter photo bombing me! (He's not actually a pup, hes 5 1/2!)

We also had our first community midwife appointment this week too. Because my hospital is quite far away, until the baby is born and once he/she is here, I’ll be seeing our local community midwives for my regular appointments, which is more local to me.

I had to give a urine sample and had my blood pressure taken- all fine!

My bump was then measured for the first time. They measure from your knicker line to the top of the bump while you’re laying down, and for 25 weeks and 2 days I was measuring at 26 weeks.

It’s roughly a cm per week pregnant you are, but you can be 2cm out either side and that’s still normal, so all looked good!

Baby’s heart rate was a healthy 150 beats per min and he/she was curled into my hip and decided to give the midwife a little kick when she tried to measure his/her’s heart rate! Cheeky Monkey!

Bump Pic! 24 Weeks!

Me and Mr B flew home from our last holiday as a couple this week. I must admit I was rather emotional on the last night, knowing this was potentially the last holiday we’d get together, alone, for a long time.

Don’t get me wrong, I am so happy to be expecting our first baby and am extremely excited, but im not that great when it comes to change and I’ve always loved our lazy holidays, spending our time reading and doing whatever we want.

I know that the next holiday we have will be completely different, and i supposed i spent the last day there mourning what we wont have anymore. Silly really isn’t it?

To while away the hours at the airport we decided to think of potential baby names and make a list.

We don’t know what we’re having and I thought it was a good idea to think of several different names for each gender, in case Baby B is born and the name we had chosen doesn’t suit them!

I’m feeling good in general this week, with baby’s movement s becoming more frequent and noticeable! I do love feeling him/her move!

Sleep is starting to become more of an issue as I am starting to find myself getting up in the night several times to pee and also, I’m hot ALL the time!

I feel sorry for hubby, what with all my tossing and turning I’d be surprised if he gets any sleep at the moment!

Bump Pic! 23 Weeks 3 Days!

I'm on holiday in Cyprus AND Mr B felt baby B move for the first time this week!

Just as our plane landed in Paphos I felt him/her kicking so grabbed his hand quickly and placed it firmly on my tum. He hadn't been able to feel anything before but he definitely did this time!

It absolutely made my day that could finally feel him/her too!

The baby's movements continued all week too- I don't know if it was because It was the first time in weeks I'd spent a decent amount of time laying down and relaxing, but every time I lay down he/she would wriggle and kick me!

By mid week I actually managed to catch on video, about 20 seconds worth of movement- just tiny little ripples of my tummy, but it was amazing and made me smile!

It was lovely just to take time out the two of us (well, three of us if count spud!) and I really tried to make the most of it, given that it will be our last holiday together as a couple for some time!

Bump Pic! 22 Weeks 1 Day!

You can't see from this photo, but this week I'm still battling against my bad skin this week and It's really getting me down.

I was off to a family member's 50th wedding anniversary and spent the majority of the time feeling super self conscious.

I asked for help on Twitter for any natural remedies or possible causes  of my flare ups (In terms of them coming and going) and one of the things suggested was that the flare ups could be due to the time in which the baby's sexual organs are developing more.

Sounds plausible to me, and I was told that this stage of growth with those particular hormones should settle by around week 25. I don't know how true this may  or may not be, I guess only time will tell.

I'm off on holiday to Cyprus for a week for a BabyMoon with the Mr, so took Friday off work to pack and prepare. I can't wait! In desperate need of some R&R!

Bump Pic! 21 Weeks 1 Day!

I know this sounds stupid as clearly I've been pregnant for the past 20 weeks, but I'm really starting to feel pregnant now.

My bump looks like a proper bump, I'm finally just over 1/2 way through my pregnancy and I'm starting to get really excited about what's to come!

Nothing much else to report this week, all been a little quiet!

Baby B isn't moving too much, or perhaps I just can't feel him/her which is more likely I think.

I find myself spending a lot of time stroking my tummy, it makes me feel closer to whoever is in there! Its weird, so many people who are due around the same time as me have chosen to find out the gender of their baby.

They are already referring to them as 'him', 'her' and in some cases, by the name they've chosen for them.

I have no idea if our baby is a girl or a boy and maybe it still feel less 'real' for now, for that reason.

The 20 Week Scan & 20 Week Bump Pic!

It finally arrived, the day for my 20 week scan and I was so excited I barely slept a wink the night before!

I was excited mainly, but also If I'm honest, I was pretty damn nervous too. By this point, the sonographer would be able to see if there were any real physical problems or abnormalities with our baby as they would be looking at EVERYTHING in such depth.

I Tried to put my nerves to one side and just be excited about seeing our baby again and see how much he/she has grown!

We've decided to not find out the gender, despite how much I'm desperate to know (I’m extremely impatient) so we were hoping we wouldn't see anything on the scan or that the sonographer wouldn't accident slip up and reveal the sex!

Baby B, doing his/her best to not get a decent shot!

We needn't have worried, and the scan was incredible.

Our baby looked like a proper baby and I was so shocked to see how much they had grown in just 8 weeks!

The scan was really thorough, they checked the function and positioning of the heart, including looking at the arteries in and out of the heart, they checked the stomach, kidneys, bladder and liver too. They measured the skull, the length of the baby and we even got to see it’s little feet, with it’s perfect toes! It was incredible, and everything looked just fine!

We came away on cloud nine and couldn't stop looking at the photo of our little baby, a photo which took almost as long as the appointment to get! Each time the sonographer tried to get a decent profile shot, the little blighter turned it’s head away!

Guess it’s not a poseur like its mum then!

In other news, bump is still growing nicely and is looking gradually more and more rounded!

Bump Pic! 19 Weeks!

I feel like Bump has really popped this week and become more rounded! I feel a bit more confident in the way I look now, as I think you can see I am ion fact pregnant, and not just podgy!

I haven’t felt Baby B moving very much since my first flutters last week, apart from one evening when I was laying down and felt what I thought was another flutter.

Thing is, I know that my placenta is anterior and because of that, it will be cushioning some of baby’s movement and kicks, so I may not feel proper movement for a few more weeks yet. Boo!

Skin is still pretty bad, though at the moment (touch wood) I haven’t had any more HUGE ones developing, I’m just working on trying to get rid of the ones that are still plaguing me!

It’s my 20 week scan next week and I am EXTREMELY excited, if a little apprehensive too- I hope all is Ok and well!

Bump Pic! 17 Weeks 1 Day!

I totally forgot to get a pic for week 16, whoop! But hey, I'm only out by like 2 days so I'm sure there wouldn't be that much change!

Baby B  is apparently about 14cm from head to bum and 23cm head to toe, so still pretty small, but I'm still definitely growing and is more rounded now than last week!

Thankfully my sickness has all but gone now and I no longer need my anti sickness tablets which is a huge relief!

I'm finally starting to feel normal again, and that feels REALLY good, especially given my new found love of Pizza Express American Pizzas!

I can't get enough of these bad boys, so It's just as well the sickness has finally buggered off!

Bump Pic! 15 Weeks 6 Days

So le bump has officially popped, (a little!) !

Yes I do still have moments where I think I just look fat, but I'm starting to feel rather proud of my slightly protruding belly!

I decided that now is the time to start my battle against stretch marks, so I am religiously applying shed loads of moisturiser to my tummy and hips in the morning and evening. (Ok so its not that religiously and I do frequently forget it in the morning, but I'm working on it!)

Aveeno's Moisturising Creamy Oil is one of my favourite go-to products and I highly recommend it!

You can read my review of this little gem HERE.

Bump Pic! 14 weeks 6 days

Here's my bump at 14 weeks 6 days!

It feels really high and I'm still quite self conscious as feel that I just look fat rather than pregnant at the moment. I'm assured that isn't the case, but still!

I've started to grow out of most of my old clothes so decided to remove all of the snug, offending items from my wardrobe and to instead, replace them with comfier, bigger clothes.

Out of sight they can no longer mock me!

Now I can see a bump, I find myself cradling and holding it rather a lot, none more so then when packed onto a crammed tube!

I have a Baby on Board Badge, which thankfully means that people tend to offer me their seat, but I doubt I need it as I spent so much of my time on the train holding my belly! It must be pretty obvious!
